So my lovely cousin told me she’s tired of seeing $100 dresses on here.  I don’t know what she’s talking about but this post is right on time.  Today’s the last day of the $39.50 Dress Sale at Ann Taylor Loft.  The Loft always has really cute dresses and great sales so don’t sleep on them.  Anyway, this Empire Halter Dress is adorable and can be dressed up or down.

I’m feeling these shoes to go with it.  And Barbara, these Dori Gladiators are only $50 and there’s a Friends And Family Sale going on at Lord and Taylor so rejoice, booboo!  Use code FRIENDS and get an extra 25% off nearly everything on their site (and there’s an in store coupon if you wanna see stuff in person).  Air kisses!

Oh you can accessorize with those cute Nason earrings from yesterday’s post.  That’s an under $100 outfit.  You’re welcome!

There isn’t really much that I need to say here.  Who doesn’t know the value of neutral shoes?  Who doesn’t love shoes $40 and under?   Who can’t see themselve slipping these buddies on with pretty much any outfit that you can come up with?  Who doesn’t know how comfortable these all look in addition to being cute?  Exactly.  All on sale at J. Jill.  Enjoy.

Well we all know how Target does with the Designer Collections by now and we all know that many items are pretty hit or miss.  I’ve had more success just rolling with Target staple company- Merona.  Anyway, none of us can resist trying to get designer goods for Target prices so of course we all scamper around trying to scoop up these deals.  Maybe I can save some of you a trip to the store here with some reviews of the hats by Eugenia Kim and the shoes by Cynthia Vincent.

First, let’s look at the display for the Cynthia Vincent shoes.  It’s simply just an endcap…that’s it.  I really don’t appreciate that at all as a consumer because obviously Target is trying to create shortages and frenzy right from the gate.   We all know how quickly these items sell out online and add to that the fact that you barely have a chance to grab something in person…awesome…NOT!

The shoes that I was most interested in were the kente cloth wedges.  They’d been in a bunch of fashion magazine spreads and looked awesome in all of them.  I was also intrigued by the yellow wedges but I won’t even taunt you because they are no longer available online and were never available in the store.  The cognac ones look cool too but only available in stores.  Good luck with that one!

So, here they are and let me say that they photograph very well but in person for me they just look flat and lackluster so I left them in the store.  It was easy to do because although the store locator on the site said they were at the store in my size, they weren’t.  I read the online reviews though and took heed to some reviewers’ suggestions to try the shoe in a whole size down from your normal size.  Great suggestion, and it was pretty true.  If the velcro at the top front of the shoe actually opened, it would have been perfect a whole size down.  So you could size anywhere from a half size to a full size down depending on your foot.  Rejoice in that!  Another thing to rejoice about is the fact that the shoes were VERY comfortable which a great feet considering that heel height.  For me though, I just cannot see me wearing these shoes that much and I was really disappointed in the hue…I was expecting something much richer.

On to some good stuff, the Eugenia Kim hats!  At first, I thought I was going to be disappointed again when I tried on the Straw Green Trim Hat and the material was shredding all over my clothes and hair.  Ugh.  But I pushed through and tried on a few hats and pictured below are my favorites.

I left with the first one- the Plaid Straw Fedora and though I have absolutely nothing to go with the second one- Straw Fedora With Black/White Trim…I’m thinking about going back to get it.  The fit on the first hat was a little tight but the fit on the second was pretty loose and relaxed.  For the record, my dome is kind of big…lol.  The third cap- Striped Equestrian Hat was pretty cute too but I was way more into the fedoras.  So after a fun trip to Target to review the new collections…definitely head straight for the Eugenia Kim hats and then if you have some free time…try for the Cynthia Vincent shoes.

I loves me some Rachel Roy. Now it wasn’t always a love affair as she has definitely made some questionable fashion choices (Hammer pants, Dame Dash…lol) but no matter what risks she takes, she is always polished and lady-like. Her love of dresses and her feminine flair mixed with clean yet urban details really sets her apart and makes her tops on my style mavens’ list. I actually plan to feature her soon as a Top Shelf Chick, something I’d like to do more of on this blog.

Back to the subject, Rachel now has a line of items that I can actually afford. To me the accessories are the stars of the show, mainly the shoes and the bags. Here are some that I thought we’d all enjoy.

A. Wanderlust Clutch, $69
B. Woven Python Tote, $129
C. Purfe Hobo, $89
Oh, dude…all these bags are 20% off the listed prices right now!

D. Nadia Sandal, $109  I really want this one badly.
E. Sloane Wedge, $76
F. Elise Peep Toe, $109

First, let’s get this out of the way…this Shabby Apple 90 Words Per Minute Dress is mine. I’m buying it and I don’t wanna hear anything from my sub conscious about how I’m not really supposed to be buying anything. Sub Conscious, shut up…Conscience, you too. It’s only $64.

Anyway, Shabby Apple is an awesome site that has always had lovely dresses that you wouldn’t be ashamed to wear around your grandmama that are definitely fabulous and fly all at the same time. This first one reminds me a bit of an Anthropologie dress from a year or two ago but it’s even doper because it has mini CAP SLEEVES. I think this is going to be my Easter dress. Yes, I still get Easter dresses. Fret not, I no longer get the matching London Fog coat and patent leather mary janes though.

A. Sheep Meadow, $88
Coming to an Easter church service near you, very soon.
B. Mary Jane Watson, $79
If I had this dress on, I wouldn’t even let anyone talk to me. Seriously, I would just stand around looking hot and haughty.
C. Nine To Five, $62
I would rock this from 9 to 5 and from 5 to whenever I felt like not showing off anymore.
D. Slate, $78
First, it’s grey and it’s shiny and it has rufflage and buttons and a lil belt? Come on!

But yeah…speaking of mary janes, Shabby Apple also has some neat accessories. Check them out here. Has anyone shopped here before?

A. Bergamo Pump, $159  I adore this funky lil mary jane.
B. Jenny Choo Pump, $140  Love that heel and the button frill.
C. Sweet As Candy Flat, $98  Stripes, Sheen, Fleurs? Love it!
D. Studded Tote, $107  Great as an everyday but surely not boring.

For some crazy reason, DSW has decided to offer an extra 50% off of all clearance shoes.  I’m not about to argue with them and I suggest you don’t either.   Run, don’t walk.  A bunch of goodies are already sold out but these  Civico 10 Right Now Leather Riding Boots along with some other treats are still left.  The sale code is 50CLEAR and it’s good until Monday, January 28th.

I’m all about wedges right now but these really confuse me.  I love the color, I love details but I’m still not sold.  What do you think?  These Deena & Ozzy Woven Wedge Booties are brand spanking new to the pages of Urban Outfitters.

These Roost Mop Slippers are the cutest, most  useful slippers ever!  As a person who likes to drip dry after a shower (rub yourself in oil/lotion while you’re still damp without toweling off and thank me later), these would definitely come in handy.  I wonder if I can also dust hardwood floors in them.  Lol!  Oh hush, you know you wanna try.  For only $20 with an extra 25% off at Neiman’s, one of us definitely should.

Someone asked me if I could have anything right now and money was no object, what it would be? I’m shoe-obsessed right now and then of course it’s winter so I’m all about coats. I’ve always wanted a Mackage coat…one day. And yeah, these shoes are divine! Who’s with me? You know one of these had to be mary janes as I have a very obvious sick obsession with them.

A. Manolo Blahnik Patent Leather Mary Jane- Black, $645
B. Valentino Couture Peep-Toe Pump, $745
C. Christian Louboutin Lady Page Velvet-Bow Pump, $995

D. Mackage Black Asymmetrical Zipper Belted Coat, $640

So adorable! I remember reading my mom’s old Spiegel catalogs as a wee lass and circling stuff that I thought was nice. I’d be folding pages to beautiful rooms and dreaming of the day that I could be a grown up and buy all that lovely stuff for myself…one sweet day! I think I’ll start with these? Only $120. I love that they’re flat and plain but the patent leather gives them that extra dimension of fresh.
